How It All Began
Born From a Belief in the Power of Nature
In 2001, a British chemist with a doctorate from the University of Nottingham — Dr. Mike Turvill — and his wife Cathy, a certified therapist with credentials spanning culinary arts, nutrition, health coaching, and Body-Mind Medicine from Harvard Medical School, founded a small spa in the cool, mist-kissed highlands of Tagaytay.
Their vision was radical in its simplicity: bring world-class wellness to the Philippines, rooted in the healing traditions of Filipino culture rather than imported from abroad. They believed in ecotherapy — that nature itself is medicine — and they built an entire village around that conviction.
From a single-room spa treatment space, Nurture grew into a sprawling village of gardens, wellness programs, organic farming, farm-to-table dining, and nature-immersive accommodations. Today, it stands as the undisputed pioneer of Filipino wellness tourism.
