The Pioneer of Filipino Wellness

A 25-year journey of healing, discovery, and authentic Philippine hospitality

How It All Began

Born From a Belief in the Power of Nature

In 2001, a British chemist with a doctorate from the University of Nottingham — Dr. Mike Turvill — and his wife Cathy, a certified therapist with credentials spanning culinary arts, nutrition, health coaching, and Body-Mind Medicine from Harvard Medical School, founded a small spa in the cool, mist-kissed highlands of Tagaytay.

Their vision was radical in its simplicity: bring world-class wellness to the Philippines, rooted in the healing traditions of Filipino culture rather than imported from abroad. They believed in ecotherapy — that nature itself is medicine — and they built an entire village around that conviction.

From a single-room spa treatment space, Nurture grew into a sprawling village of gardens, wellness programs, organic farming, farm-to-table dining, and nature-immersive accommodations. Today, it stands as the undisputed pioneer of Filipino wellness tourism.

Our Foundation

The Four Pillars of Nurture

Every experience at Nurture Wellness Village is built on four unshakeable commitments.

Quality Without Compromise

All therapists hold CIBTAC certifications from the United Kingdom and are licensed by the Philippine Department of Health. We use only 100% therapeutic-grade essential oils, freshly blended in-house. Excellence is not a standard we reach for — it is the floor.

Proudly Filipino

From the Ifugao-inspired native huts and Filipino-themed décor to the Hilot massage and traditional herbal treatments, Nurture is a celebration of Philippine culture. Every treatment is rooted in indigenous healing wisdom passed down through generations.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Nurture prioritises local hiring and invests in the wellness education of our team. Our products support local essential-oil producing communities, and proceeds fund programs for out-of-school youth. When you choose Nurture, you uplift an entire community.

What We Stand For

Our Values

01

Ecotherapy

We believe that sustained contact with nature is one of the most powerful healing forces available to humankind. Every inch of Nurture's grounds has been designed to amplify this connection — from the spiraling reflexology garden paths to the three named tropical gardens: Payapa, Pag-ibig, and Pag-asa.

02

Sustainability

Nurture holds the Anahaw Award from Zero Carbon Resorts. We practice waste segregation, greywater recycling, and rainwater harvesting. Our organic permaculture farm — led by a certified Permaculture Specialist — produces food for our Farmer's Table restaurant while modelling responsible land stewardship.

03

Authenticity

We do not import wellness from somewhere else. Filipino healing arts — Hilot, Ventosa, Dagdagay, herbal compresses, and traditional formulations — are not a theme here. They are our expertise, refined over 25 years of dedicated practice and continuous learning.

04

Human Touch

Nurture is not a hotel that happens to have a spa. It is a healing village where the sincerity of service shapes every interaction. Our therapists are encouraged to connect genuinely, to listen deeply, and to respond to the whole person — not simply a booking.

05

Holistic Growth

Wellness is not a destination — it is a continuous practice. We offer programs, retreats, and ongoing education for our guests to deepen their own wellness journeys long after they leave Tagaytay. Our corporate wellness programs extend this philosophy to organisations.
